Depolarization field effect on elasticity of unpoled piezoelectric ceramics

Multiple poling steps and complex electrode configurations are indispensable for high-performance state-of-the-art piezoelectric devices, yet those create partially poled or utterly unpoled regions that significantly change behaviors of devices. Several studies have dealt with method to obtain elastic compliance, little attention has been paid loss. Furthermore, physical mechanism explain the behavior ceramic is missing. In this study, we experimentally both effective compliance loss ceramics, using recently developed called partial (PE), propose elasticity. The derivation process analytical admittance equation PE explained verified finite element analysis (FEA) simulation. was determined by fitting experimental curve derived solutions. With aid intensive extensive compliances losses, concluded elasticity material lies in between intensive-ness extensive-ness. We “elastic intermediacy” depolarization field effect, which one most important phenomena piezoelectricity.
